According to their own statements, Ersties offers amateurs fair pay. Female performers we interviewed also rated their pay as “very good.”

The videos show authentically how the amateurs enjoy sex alone or with partners. In the detailed Ersties interviews they talk about their turn-ons and fantasies. Consent and how to create a comfortable work environment for everyone is discussed before each shoot.

Although the Ersties landing page in particular stands out with its very binary categories and emphasizes on the performers being “German” and the content being “natural” (referring to the performers? to the way sexuality is shown? that remains unclear), the performers themselves are more diverse than one might assume. Some of the amateurs are international and different genders have a space on Ersties. What is obvious, however, is that the performers are young, beautiful, and natural. This focus seems to determine how the amateurs are being cast. There is still room for improvement in the diversity of the site, also in order to create a safe space for all.

All performers and couples are introduced in an interview before their first video is published, they can talk freely and easily about their own topics and their sexuality. This gives viewers the feeling of getting to know the people.

The German landing page describes the performers as “yummy girls”, in the English version it sounds much better (“delicious fun”). It is emphasized that you’ll see „real girls“ in the videos. With all the talk about German girls and natural female students, trans or non-binary performers are being made invisible. It doesn’t do the many international and BPOC amateurs on the site justice either. Behind the paywall, things are fortunately less binary. Even in newer videos, vulvas are being described as “vaginas”.
